About Natasha

Welcome to Extra Sauce, Please!

As you’ll see in my recipes, I can’t categorize myself as a specific kind of cook.

Growing up, I had a front-row seat to one of the world’s best cooks—my mom. She taught me the fundamentals of Indian cooking but also took her own creative liberties to concoct delicious new meals with seasonal ingredients. I’ve observed her perfect pakoras and biryani and seen her practice her way to perfecting lasagna and stir-fry. I think I’ve adopted her adventurous spirit in the kitchen and beyond.

Just like her, my love language is cooking for those I love. Mom would host our family and friends in the dozens, and every food memory I can recall ended with guests licking their fingers clean. I believe this was because my mom cooked with love and passion, and it surfaced through every bite.

Indian food is one of my favorite cuisines, and this blog features many family recipes, a lot taught by Mom and aunts. I also enjoy exploring other cuisines and strive to make easy (mainly healthy) meals from around the world. From my kitchen to yours, I hope these recipes feed your souls as they do mine!
